christmas happenings

Looks like tomorrow will be a day of taking down the Christmas decorations. Didn't I just put them up? Another Christmas... come and gone.

It was beyond wonderful to have Daddy on vacation for a week. We did a lot of playing and watching movies. We went to see Alvin & the Chipmunks to make up for not being able to head back to see the grandparents on the day we planned. Tears turned to cheers as we loaded up in the car.

We had a wonderful time hanging out with family. I think it is safe to say that we are loved. :) We are truly blessed with all of the wonderful gifts we received. I am still trying to find homes for all of the Christmas loot. I can't decide if it's going to be stranded lego pieces or Nerf bullets that finally send me to an institution.

Just an observation from the two times we visited Santa this year... I'm contemplating wearing a Santa suit when I photograph my kids from now on... they always give him a sweet smile. No fair Santa!

This little guy didn't feel well for almost a week. He tried really hard to enjoy all of the Christmas festivities but his tummy had other plans. He turned a corner today and is back to being Happy Jack.

Anybody else feeling the cooped-up-ness and ready to get out of the house?
Psssst Kyle... see what a difference an eye lift would make? :)

What an interesting Christmas this has been. The snowy weather may have rearranged our plans a bit, but one thing remains the same.... a certain little baby laid in a manger many, many years ago. A certain little baby that came for you and me.

Wishing you a Christmas filled with all things merry and bright!

Even though it is going to be a very busy weekend, I pray we are all able to celebrate Christ's birth as God intended it to be celebrated.

Merry Christmas!

frosty fun

I still had all of the supplies from the school party sitting around, so we took advantage of building snowmen, once again. This time Embry and Ellie got to join in on the fun.

in the christmas spirit

Hayes had his Christmas party at school today.
There was singing...

and decorating cookies.

Here he is with his teacher, Mrs. Black. I am so thankful we ended up in her class this year. She is absolutely amazing. Hayes is learning so much and really enjoys every bit of school. I only hope Embry and Ellie can sneak into her class too! :)

I received my first little letter from Hayes. Heart melting.

He makes me picture after picture after of things that I like, in my favorite colors. The other day he asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I told him, "How about a pretty picture?" He left and came back and asked me what else I wanted. "I want my kids to be happy." Again. "Um, how about a necklace?" Finally after quite a few more times, he brought me a picture of a stocking filled with all of those things I said. Sweet boy.
