Wanted to share this yummy recipe I made tonight. I hardly ever make dessert... just ask my kids. If they actually eat their dinner and earn dessert, it quite possibly could be fruit snacks or marshmallows.
It could definitely be paired with some ice cream. Oh yes, definitely.
Serves 8
1 8 oz. can crescent rolls
2 tablespoons butter, softened
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 large Granny Smith apples, peeled and quartered
1 6 oz. can frozen apple juice concentrate, thawed
*Unroll crescent roll dough, and separate into triangles. Spread butter evenly over dough. Stir together sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle evenly over butter. (I just used the cinnamon sugar mixture from the store.)
*Bake at 350° for 45 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly. (I cooked for 30 minutes and covered with foil for the rest of the baking time because the tops were already golden.)
9 tellin' me what I want to hear!:
ooh that sounds so good! I saw a similar recipe on pioneer woman and have been wanting to try it too. You're making me hungry now! :)
Sounds yummy!
Oh boy, I want some! I have not found a butter that Keely Beth can have. I did find a brand of cresent rolls. Is the butter that important?
I make a similar Apple dumpling, but it has the addition of Mountain Dew (it's the Pioneer Woman's). Super yummy on a cold evening. Thanks for sharing this variation.
BTW, Ree Drummond is going to be in you town this weekend. Did you know (or care)?
Yum yum yum yum yum!!! Why oh WHY did my dr put me on a no sugar diet???!!! I might make it for other people. I have apples... a whole bag!
