we belong in a zoo

We did not waste any time getting our summer started. We headed to the OKC Zoo and had a blast with Minnie, Papaw and Auntie.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. We will... Daddy's home and we've got nothing on the agenda but hangin' out.

school's out for summer

School's out for-eva!

That little Alice Cooper number is one of Hayes' favorite songs. And you know we sang it more than once today. No more Pre-K for this boy... movin' on up to the big time in the fall!

Guess who's on call tonight?

Hayes, Ellie and I went for a visit this evening. Here's to an uneventful night, babe. Hope you get some rest.

In case you're wondering where my third little monkey is... Embry is enjoying his special time with grandparents this week. I hear he is loving the attention.

Look who I got to spend my afternoon with...

looking back...

While Kyle was doing a fabulous job of cleaning out the garage, he pulled the bike trailer out for Hayes and Ellie. Look who I found taking it for a spin back in 2005. Hayes was one.

grandpa's pond

My boy likes to fish.

She loves her Grandpa.

Seriously... can Maddox be any cuter?

Everyone says Embry looks like his Papaw (my dad).

Everyone says Ellie looks like her Nana (Kyle's mom).

Kyle and Drew.

Jude... look at those sweet lips.

Uncle Kyle says...

My Minnie! No, my Minnie!

What a great weekend we had. Six grand kids between Kyle, Drew and Laura made for a fun time... all 14 of us in the same house! Can't wait until we can all get together again.

What we take away from the weekend...

A pedicure is one of life's simple pleasures. One of life's simple pleasures that will now be a regular event on my calendar.

Gnats are annoying as all get-out, but they can't ruin a good party.

Andrew and Laura need to record an album. Seriously talented.

A date night with my man doesn't happen often enough. But when it does...

Kyle and I are truly blessed with wonderful families.

summer, here we come!

Today was the last day of school for Embry and Ellie. I'm so sad to see them leave their teachers. Wonderful ladies. We received little photobooks with pictures from throughout the year. It is amazing how much they have grown in just one school year! Thank you Grandpa and Nana for the opportunity to learn, make friends and give Mommy a break.

Today also marks the end of the thirty minute car wait in front of Hayes' school. By the time I pick Embry and Ellie up and head across town, there's not much time to go home. So we just hang out in the car and wait for Hayes to get out of school. This is not quite as enjoyable as one might think. Thank goodness it's over... for now anyway. :)

t is for trisha

Hayes made two "lowercase" t's for his mama. He even pointed out that he used my favorite color orange. Thoughtful boy. He sure likes to build things.

Lately, he is always trying to kick me off of the computer because he wants to play Hot Wheels. He just now aggressively informed me that he needs to get on now so he can show Embry and Ellie the games.

He then looked at me and said, "I'm sorry for complaining. What does complaining mean?"
