twenty nine

Embry and Ellie are 29 months old... the same age Hayes was when they were born.

To say there was some adjusting to his new baby brother and sister would be an understatement. He was so sweet with the babies but wasn't too fond of sharing the spotlight. Now look at him... such a big boy. But still not too fond of sharing the spotlight!
We headed to the park today seeing that it was so nice and Daddy was around to help. And explanations for the clothes today? No explanations, I'm afraid. It's really just a matter of choosing your battles. Besides, I'm a huge fan of their creative fashion! :)

swanky digs

We brought Daddy dinner tonight since he is on call. I thought it would be fun to show you around his home-sweet-home away from home. Don't be hatin'. And if you're wondering about Hayes' get-up...Wacky Wednesday at school in celebration of Dr. Seuss.

You will notice we have the sleeping quarters over here to the left. A snazzy chair for relaxing to the right. Here, let's take a closer look. So luxurious.

There's a bathroom (sans shower) between the bedroom and this little nook.

Fridge station. Someone apparently fancies tabasco sauce. Is anyone else noticing the monitors in every corner of the room?

And of course, the lockers. But wait! Where's Kyle's locker? Oh, that's right. He doesn't have one. What's a boy gotta do to get him one? Looks like wait until one becomes available or take matters into his own hands and roam the hospital in search of one.

As lacking as this room appears, do we really expect anything else? Even though I am rearranging, decluttering and decorating in my head the whole time I'm there, I guarantee you Kyle (and the other guys, most likely) don't give a rip what it looks like... as long as they have a place to crash.

fly me to the moon tulsa!

Hayes and I ventured to the Tulsa Air and Space Museum today. It was pretty neat to see airplanes, a helicopter, a hot air balloon and all kinds of space stuff in person. A sweet, elderly man named Bob was our guide and he was more than eager to tell us his life story and his love for all things aviation. Hayes loved pretending he was a pilot and even got to blast a space shuttle into outer space!

you're making me angry

The Hulk is one of many superheros taking over my house. Even my little princess plays along. I love it.

on my mind

Matthew 20:28
For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.

Mark 9:35
He sat down, called the twelve disciples over to him, and said, “Whoever wants to be first must take last place and be the servant of everyone else.”

Philippians 2:3-4
Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. 4 Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.

shop talk

In front of the Walgreen's lady, Hayes announces that he has to poop.

On the way home...

"Hayes, it's not polite to say you have to poop in public. You should say that you need to use the restroom."

"Why? You don't poop in a restroom. You rest in a restroom."

"Restroom is another word for bathroom."

"I don't have to poop anymore. It sunked back up into my body. It went right here to the biggest bone in my leg."

Once home, after he did his business, he informs me...

"Boys' bottoms look like tea pots and girls' bottoms looks like flipped over mountains."

May your conversations today be as informative as mine.
