family matters

Who goes with who...

Here's my family. My dad (Papaw) and mom (Minnie), my sister Cady (Auntie) and us. Take note of the lovely smile on each kid's face. At least they are all looking at the camera!

Kyle's family. Back row we have Kyle's brother Drew and Liz, me and Kyle, Kyle's sister, Laura (LaLa) and Andrew. Grandpa and Nana in the middle holding Drew and Liz's baby, Maddox. Down in front... Embry, Jordan, Hayes (nice) and Miss Serious.

These two cuties are awaiting the arrival of their little Jude in March.

weekend highlights

Hayes actually posed for pictures at the pumpkin patch... over and over. I loved it! Check out hewood for more.

These guys got their big brother on a horse. He has never wanted to before but once he saw Embry and Ellie go for a ride, he was next in line.

The kids went crazy with their Dallas Cowboys gear that Papaw and Minnie brought back from the game.

Why so serious? Our kitchen table got a face lift today. Embry and Ellie went to town with the markers.
We spent the day outside and got a little dirty. Check out Hayes' outfit. He was so proud he matched his greens.
We discovered Lala is having a boy! Hayes has already named him Bumblebee.

dirty faces

My mom did it. Your mom most likely did too. The licking-the-finger-and-wiping-the-face thing. I said I would never do that and apparently I don't by looking at pictures of my kids. Picture after picture, there is some form of gunk on those little faces. At first, I would get frustrated that a perfectly good picture would be ruined by remnants of dinner or snotty noses or whatever. But then I had a realization... my kids usually have some form of gunk on their little faces. Duh.

I have since grown to love those imperfections in pictures. The smudges of food show that their bellies are most likely full. The muddy faces are the result of getting to play outside and the snotty noses, well, I'm still trying to appreciate those. Life around here is nowhere close to being perfect so why try to make it appear that way through pictures?

I have updated the website with new pics. These are a few that I have been messing around with textures. Making those dirty faces look a bit dirtier...
