Does anyone else's car look like this? This is a typical day when everyone goes to school. Backpacks, lunch boxes, sleeping mats, purse, mail, prescriptions, you name it. It takes two trips to get it all back into the house.

granola anyone?
Here is a granola recipe I just love to make. It is so simple and yummy. You can find the original recipe from Emeril here. I just modified it to suit my fancy. You can basically add or subtract whatever you like. Add it to a bowl of vanilla yogurt and you're in business!

according to hayes...
Broccoli Obama is our new president.
You can use allergic as an excuse for things you don't like. Ellie was holding a bug today and once Hayes realized what it was, he freaked and ran off screaming, "Ahhh! I'm allergic to bugs!"
Poop can't really walk.
You can talk to God when you're mad. I'm likin' where his head's at... except he was going to tattle on me for not taking him to McDonald's.
A good movie and blanket will make you feel better. I agree. He came home early from school today because he wasn't feeling good. So I'm hoping his remedy helps him feel better soon.

conversations with a 4 year old

"Hayes, if you keep whining, we are going to put the hot wheels back."
"What are you doing Hayes?"

want to come over for dinner?
Can't promise you a good time, but I can promise you a show.
It'll start something like this...
A fight will break out over who gets to pray first. Then Hayes will get upset because we are trying to teach him the ladies first concept and he ain't buyin'.
Then a round of prayers, which is just the sweetest thing you'll ever hear. Like Embry's prayer tonight... "Thank you for this day. Thank you for the world. Thank you for this day. Thank you for the world. Amen."
Then things will go south rather quickly. There will be guaranteed refusals to eat, threats, gagging, throwing food on the floor, burping, more refusals to eat, a timeout or two, more refusals, a trip to locate the paddle, no dessert, empty bellies, a mountain of wasted food.
Sound fun? Dinner's at 6.
