huntin' for eggs

We took advantage of the amazing weather today and went huntin' for eggs. It went down the way things usually go around here. Things start out beautifully... but usually end in a time out or two.

Hayes was frantically trying to find the most so he could be the winner. Each man for himself is that kid's way of thinkin'.

Ellie just had a good time running around and being in the moment, giving the boys the 'boy' eggs in exchange for the 'girl' ones.

And Embry, well, he was just content with the one spiderman egg he snagged. He didn't really get the concept of filling your basket. He did however, get the concept of eating as much candy from the eggs as he could.

9 tellin' me what I want to hear!:

Looks like they each ended up with quite a bit of "loot".

Huntin' for eggs *inside* the house was our tradition (it was still pretty cold in IA this time of year). It's amazing to me to see all of the *different* kinds of eggs...sports balls, superheros, glitter, plain, big, small, etc. "Back in the day", Mom used plainly colored regular-sized eggs and the eggs that pantyhose used to come in (we always liked finding those because we knew those were "loaded").

Hope you have one blessed Easter tomorrow...what an amazing gift we've been given!

Wonderful pictures! I sort of wish we had done our egg hunt yesterday. We had to have the search inside because of rain.
It was still a beautiful day!

Wasn't it last year that Embry did the same thing with the candy at Bev and Steve's? I can't remember if it was last year or the year before but I got such a kick out of him putting as many jelly beans into his mouth at one time as he could!!! Such a cute, neat kid!!!

Brinley is also very preoccupied with girl vs. boy things...eggs, sippy cups, balloons...if it has a color, it has a gender - haha.
