swanky digs

We brought Daddy dinner tonight since he is on call. I thought it would be fun to show you around his home-sweet-home away from home. Don't be hatin'. And if you're wondering about Hayes' get-up...Wacky Wednesday at school in celebration of Dr. Seuss.

You will notice we have the sleeping quarters over here to the left. A snazzy chair for relaxing to the right. Here, let's take a closer look. So luxurious.

There's a bathroom (sans shower) between the bedroom and this little nook.

Fridge station. Someone apparently fancies tabasco sauce. Is anyone else noticing the monitors in every corner of the room?

And of course, the lockers. But wait! Where's Kyle's locker? Oh, that's right. He doesn't have one. What's a boy gotta do to get him one? Looks like wait until one becomes available or take matters into his own hands and roam the hospital in search of one.

As lacking as this room appears, do we really expect anything else? Even though I am rearranging, decluttering and decorating in my head the whole time I'm there, I guarantee you Kyle (and the other guys, most likely) don't give a rip what it looks like... as long as they have a place to crash.

12 tellin' me what I want to hear!:

Oh, Kyle is definitely living the sweet life over at his home-sweet-home away from home. I just LOVE the recliner--it's SO luxurious! LOL!

Sooo, what did you end up bringing your on-call hubs to eat?

Regarding the locker....can't he just swipe the 3rd year quitter's locker?

PS. I just love how Embry loves to wear his hat! And I'm very impressed with Hayes' oh-so-wacky outfit! Dr. Seuss would have been proud!

What does it say about me that I didn't even notice Hayes had a wacky outfit?

Nice digs, Kyle! I love the abundance of Tabasco. lol!

Which 3rd yr left?

Yeah, when we went there I was surprised that it was so yucky, but mostly he just sleeps there. Maybe he will get a locker because that resident left. I love the picture in the chair.

You are a great wife & Mom, Trisha. Kyle show great fortitude sleeping in those surroundings, huh? but a guy's gotta do what a guy's gotta do! LOVE the family shot, Hayes did wack out the look!

I just LOVE the fact that you took a picture of his call room. It's like revealing a secret place people are always curious about. Well, maybe just nosey people like me. I hear the History Channel got a tour of secret White House rooms no one has ever seen before... and I'm dying to see the show. I think it aired in November. Now you probably think I'm psycho, but there you go, these are the things I think about-- the secret places most people don't usually get to see. Then again, I guess that's why MTV Cribs was so popular. But I digress.

What a sweet wife you are, bringing him dinner and the family! I keep meaning to take J dinner and I never do... gotta change that soon.

So glad you took pics! I've never been up there, so now when Brad's on call I can picture him hanging out in such a great room!! My number one question that I've asked Brad and never have really gotten an answer....How often do they change those sheets??? YUK! Maybe I don't want to know!

N...I....C...E...!!! Do they change the sheets for each resident? ;o) Bless his heart....

You are a good wife/Mom as I know that it must be hard for him not getting to see his family but for a few hours during the week he works!

Alrighty, for a study in comparisons, I've got Matt's crib up on my site.

This call room is about 5x nicer than the one's in Tom's hospital...seriously...it's sad. It's in a closet and has bunk beds. Great idea for a post!
