want to come over for dinner?

Can't promise you a good time, but I can promise you a show.

It'll start something like this...

A fight will break out over who gets to pray first. Then Hayes will get upset because we are trying to teach him the ladies first concept and he ain't buyin'.

Then a round of prayers, which is just the sweetest thing you'll ever hear. Like Embry's prayer tonight... "Thank you for this day. Thank you for the world. Thank you for this day. Thank you for the world. Amen."

Then things will go south rather quickly. There will be guaranteed refusals to eat, threats, gagging, throwing food on the floor, burping, more refusals to eat, a timeout or two, more refusals, a trip to locate the paddle, no dessert, empty bellies, a mountain of wasted food.

Sound fun? Dinner's at 6.

Please pass the manners.

We'll eat anything but actual food.

6 tellin' me what I want to hear!:

How about adding the fact the Daddy ain't nowhere to be found and hasn't ate a meal with you since 2008? (slightly laced with sarcasm)

LOL! Did you happen to look through our windows?

Our "show" continues with the bedtime routine, and the final act is both of us passing out on the couch around 10pm because we couldn't take a second more.

PS. I like Dion's addition....thankfully, we've seen more of Daddy than not lately.

Dad's favorite song title...

"You're Gonna Miss This"...

I promise, it will get better!

Hang in there!

i totally understand why parents give up and just let their kids eat ice cream and mac and cheese every meal. i'm exhausted just reading that! you are a fantastic mommy!

The pictures are so, so cute with this post! Dinner at our house starts out pretty much like yours. Although sometimes there is fighting over who a kid does not want to say the blessing. That is a riot.
